The Beauty of Song: Kathleen Battle

Soprano Kathleen Battle has one of the most recognizable voices in opera, having sung with too many companies and worked with too many conductors to list.

Among the roles she's sung are Pamina in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare, and Rosina in Rossini's The Barber of Seville.

She also sang at the free groundbreaking ceremony for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, where I got her autograph. :-)
