Making history as the first black Miss America in 1983, Vanessa Williams was forced to give up her title two months early when some rather nasty nude photos of her appeared in Penthouse. As a vocally gifted Miss America with acting ability who actually had a chance to become something other than a former Miss America later on, this scandal seemed to mean the end of her career.
She bounced back, though, beginning a singing career that produced hits such as "Save The Best For Last" and an esteemed acting career that includes movies such as Soul Food. As for her dirty pics, well . . . they can't be more embarrassing the The Johnson Family Vacation.
Williams currently appears in the ABC series "Ugly Betty."
