PBS newswoman Gwen Ifill

Gwen Ifill is a relative newcomer to public television, having joined The NewsHour With Jim Lehrer in 1999.

Prior to joining PBS, she was an NBC correspondent and had been a political reporter for the New York Times. Ms. Ifill also hosts PBS's Washington Week, one of the more civilized political talk shows on American television.
