Darci Kistler is synonymous with the New York City Ballet. A principal dancer with the company since 1982, she has performed numerous roles created by George Balanchine. She is a living legend to serious ballet aficionados.

Update: Ms. Kistler - who is married to New York City Ballet chief balletmaster Peter Martins - retired in June 2010.
